Who are we?

Custom Denning has been building buses since 1955. With over 65 years’ experience it is Australia’s oldest bus builder. Over the last 3 years we have developed the first Australian operational Electric Bus 'The Element' which is now in operation.

Due to continuous growth, we are looking to strengthen our production line with experienced Trades Assistants. These opportunities will enable the right candidates to work for one of Australia’s only vehicle OEM’s that will grow your skill base with a variety of work in a forward-thinking business that offers growth and career advancement opportunities to the right candidates.

The Role

These are very much hands on positions, demanding high levels of commitment to quality. You will work with skilled trades employees on a variety of tasks involved with bus building.

What will you be doing?

  • Working closely with our skilled trades staff in various stages of the production line
  • Use of various tools including hand & power tools
  • Undertaking tasks as instructed
  • Be an effective team member, working with supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output
  • Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies

What you bring:

  • Previous trades assistant, labouring or workshop experience highly desirable
  • Current drivers' license and reliable transport
  • Must have own tools
  • Strong level of integrity, honesty, and a willingness to learn
  • Demonstrated pro-active attitude with an eye for detail, and willingness to work as part of a team to complete required tasks
  • Flexible and an ability to work around changing priorities
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems
  • A strong, safety focused work ethic
